The first National Skills League was already conducted!
EWF Dec. 08th - 2021
LAK was the first partner of DESTINE project to implement the pilot sessions of the European Metal AM Design Technician (EMAM-DT) qualification standard, on November 2nd, 2021. These pilot sessions allowed all 19 students involved (coming from a Vocational school for metal processing, in Hannover (DE), where they are attending technical product designing and toolmaking courses) to prepare for the National Skill League, held on December 2nd, 2021.
During this competition, all students were presented with an exercise (more specifically, a Problem- Based Learning (PBL) assignment), which they had to solve using TinkerCAD. The criteria for assessing their performance were previously set under DESTINE project and applied in a harmonised way to each student.
The rules and procedures to conduct this National Skills League (and the competitions to come) were based on those usually implemented in EuroSkills™ and WorldSkills™.
The feedback provided by the participating students was very positive! The majority stated that they would recommend the EMAM-DT course to other students and that it met their expectations! Also a very positive feedback was provided by them on the tour to the experimental area and on the exercise using TinkerCAD.
Soon, other National Skills Competition will follow in the remaining countries of DESTINE partnership.
